A devices list in Settings, and blocking for devices tied to serious violations

Authentication

ChangedIdentity verification moved to a new provider, Persona. The check runs inside your profile in whichever of the ten languages you are using, and the identity, privacy and legal pages were updated to name the new provider.

AddedSettings has a Devices section listing the devices you have signed in from, with the browser, operating system, device type, approximate location and when each was last seen. A device in use right now is marked online.

SecurityDevices linked to serious violations of the Terms can be blocked. Anyone on a blocked device sees an explanation and a way to contact support if they believe it is a mistake.

AddedThe privacy policy explains the device data collected to prevent fraud and account takeover, that it is kept only as a salted one-way hash, and that you can review your own devices in Settings.

SecurityDeleting your account also revokes and removes any calendar connection you had granted.

FixedThe username availability check was unreachable, so the forms where you pick or change your username could not tell you whether one was already taken. It works again.

Communication

AddedClients can schedule an interview straight from a job application. You pick a day, choose a free time slot and a length between 15 and 90 minutes, and both people receive a calendar invite with a meeting link.

AddedInstead of fixing a time, a client can send a booking window — the days, the daily hours and the length — and let the freelancer pick. Open times are shown in the freelancer's own time zone, and booking one confirms the interview for both people.

AddedYou can connect your own calendar in Settings, so interviews are created on it and your real availability is used. Google is still reviewing the Worqen calendar app, so connecting shows a warning screen you have to accept; until you connect, interviews land on the Worqen calendar instead.

AddedBoth people are emailed when an interview is scheduled, moved or cancelled, with a calendar file attached, and both get a reminder about a day and about an hour before it starts.

ImprovedInterview times are checked on the server: a slot that overlaps another interview for either person is refused with an explanation, and an interview cannot be booked in the past. A client can require a buffer around meetings they already have.

Platform

ImprovedThe home page is built ahead of time for each of the ten languages instead of being rendered on every request, and browsing jobs and services downloads substantially less code, so both become usable sooner.

FixedLarge photos, especially straight from a phone camera, could fail to upload. Images are resized in your browser before they are sent — profile pictures, cover images, portfolio pieces, job photos and listing photos — and the servers allow far longer for a big upload to finish.

ImprovedGeneral browsing is no longer rate limited as tightly, so heavy use is much less likely to run into a too-many-requests error. Sign-in, registration, wallet and escrow actions keep their own stricter limits.
